Captain Russell Capleton, former President of the Jamaica Airline Pilots Association (JALPA) has died.
Captain Capleton, who was JALPA's spokesman, died in the Andrews Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning from a reported heart attack.
He was at the forefront of the Association's fight to acquire Air Jamaica before the ‘Love Bird' was divested to Trinidad and Tobago's national carrier, Caribbean Airlines. Source

He was born and raised in Falmouth, Trelawny, by parents who were accountants, but attended Jamaica College in Kingston and New York University in the United States, where he studied advertising and commercial arts.
