OPrah is doing a show on dating, as in dating REAL men, and who does she have running it???? Carson Daily and the dude from project runway...ok I'm confused.

Oh and part of the show WAS about dating, they asked about deal breakers when it came to dating and interviewed some people for their opinion. Also went over the top 10 things NOT to do on a date with a woman.Comment

Oh yeah toward the end they had some women talking about what men shouldn't do on a date to turn women off and they asked some women about things guys had done that did turn them off - along the same theme of making over men from neanderthals into datable peopleComment

not many.... on every Project Runway there is usually only ONE token straight male designer, but most are gay. And - two straight guys have won it. 
but in general there's LOADS of gay men in the fashion & design industries.
and Tim Gunn is positively an ICON in the fashion industry, his taste is seriously impeccable, that's why they hired him to be the "coach" on Proj Runway.
funny side note: there's a blog called "Project Run<span style="font-weight: bold">gay" </span> which is howlingly funny

Just for the record, both my mother & father were hairdressers & my father was DEFINATELY not gay (think he enjoyed all that interaction with women, as a matter of fact(....AND one other example comes to mind, one of our guests, a very good looking Chinese/American man was a colorist at one of New Yorks top shops *Frederic Fekkai". He was here with his lovely wife, who was expecting their first child.....so that's 2, anyway!Comment

I would like a male hairdresser again. I have only had one straight one and he could shampoo your hair in a way that makes you raise your tail off the seat.
I think just like with decorating, there is an consensus that gay men have the upperhand on fashion and fixing up. I don't want my man to look metrosexual or gay, but I can't deny that if he was rough that a gay man would probably be the best source to smooth his look out.Comment

Ok so anyone see this show other than me??? Thing is they did fix the guys up, but in like one instance is was these skinny girly looking jeans, and I'm like wanting to know, can they fix him up in a way that would appeal to a gay guy looking at a straight man all cleaned up would like, or in the way a WOMAN would like to see her man. I thought the jeans were too girly, and the hair style is usually all gelled up into peaks or something.Comment

True. I wonder if the straight don't want to be called gay or that when they go inside the industry they change.Comment
