At about 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, 2009, five men forced their way into Wilkins Merilan's Poinciana, Fla., home and demanded money and drugs.
Police say the men beat Wilkins, cut him with a knife, scalded him with hot water and shot him twice. Wilkins' friend and girlfriend were fatally shot before the suspects fled the scene.
When police arrived at about 6 a.m. they found Wilkins, still alive, and his 3-year-old daughter lying motionless.
Fortunately, the child was unharmed and woke up when paramedics moved her.
Four of the five men charged with the crime have been arrested, but Jamal Brown remains on the loose.
Brown is charged with armed burglary and two counts of murder.
He could be hiding in Orlando, Fla., or Stone Mountain, Ga.
