There are some killjoys up in here.

If you can't stomach a holiday for mama, then what can you really support a holiday for? And as Kia and some others pointed out, it does not have to involve spending money. You can even glue her a card together like a 6 year old child if you a penny pincher to the bone.

The point is of course you should treat your mother right year round, but I don't see a thing wrong with naming one holiday for them.

Personally I do not like Mother's Day and its hype. I'm just not into saccharine sappiness trumped up for commercial overuse But I don't want to come off like a curmudgeon . I do appreciate that others may like a day like Mothers Day to do something special for their moms or to remember those who mothered them. I will not take away from their joy.
