so mi always eena Winners looking...afta all is not much fi do bout di place...di lady in di bedding know seh mi like di nuff cotton count so she tell mi dat dem get een couple 1020 count...so we end up chatting at length..she come from Yorkshire some 22yrs ago an seh she neva yet go bak...she an di husband do farming...beef mainly...

anyhooo in di midst of we conversation she used di word 'coloured' ...she seh she always tink it was wonderful how di US n Britain used di coloureds....

mi a try wonder if she no realise seh mi is black cause mi is obviously black regardless of how pale...but mi juss a wonder ....a mean di statement came when we was tawking bout migration of former colonists to Britain

people dahling...people....an she said it so pleasantly and matter-of-factly dat i was stunned fi a minit...den mi stawt wonder how she meant by 'used'...slavery r wat...but di tone of the conversation up to dat poing did not merit mi interpreting it dat way but chile mi still did a wonder...so rada dan lose it n mek boat of wi look bad, mi find a reason fi end di conversation....but is di fuss time in mi life mi was cawled coloured...cause even if she neva meant to include mi, it included mi...i have been called di n wud an now mi get di c wud...
