they were heroes at times and sellouts at times...it depends on the time and context in which they are referenced...
their courage or facing the world powers--- spanish then british--- in battle- has to be commended...
acts of turning over j'cans to british have to be criticized...
it must also be remembered that the british had some afri-jamaicans on their side against maroons as well...

the history is there...but let it be said that the modern day mesmerized afri-jamaican has murdered more of his fellow afri-jamaican than the maroons ever did...
