agreed with the internet changing the traditional ways we do things

I think the mere thought of conducting &quot;baby business&quot; of any sort via the internet, just give some people weird vibes in a sacriligious(sp) kinda way.

can't say doing this particular thing on the internet would be my choice/route, but mi wish dem luck

mi know one lady hers just about to come through after about 1-2 years starting the process and she live a ny, suh wonder why it a tek di GA couple so long fi get any where

but they also said this

Nowhere do I get the sense that they were trying to circumvent the CDA but rather supplementing the search by adding more resources.

no - 'approval' does not mean the actual adoption process has been completed. it just gives them the go-ahead to use FB as a 'contact' method, to put them in touch with a birth mother.

Once all parties are known entities, the actual adoption process must still be done thru the correct legal channels.

Yeah Gen = I understand how it can come across as kinda skeevy... but only if they sealed the deal that way. I would expect that they would go and meet the child and develop some kind of relationship prior to finalizing anything.

Ok I don't liek the &quot;my husband is jamaican so.....&quot; it mek it seem like she just need another &quot;thing&quot; to add to her collection... however dat is between Delroy and Lesa however, if the entire system wasn't so damn corrupt dem wudda guh thru di proper channels and have dem pickney and none of us wud be here discussing this right now.

All adoptions have to be sanctioned by the proper authority however going thru the process fo picking a child from a home is frustrating for nex yuh hear di home want dis di pickney haffi go thru dat and nexx ting yuh know yuh spen all this money and at the end no child to show for it.

I know someone who did that and as a result he is so heartbroken yuh can't even mention the word Jamaica to him widout wan bag a quarelling. He wont even set foot in Jamaica fi how the agency deal wid him he spend in excess fo 30K and as a foreigner him neva know seh him need fi dobule and tripple check everything dem teef him money and at the end the baby adopted by a well known family in montego bay he went to Jamaica and the baby wasn't there when he called the police him almost get lock up and when him seh him a guh a di press let's just say he was escorted to the airport and not by no police officer either.

So kudos to Delroy an Lesa, I hope they find their baby pretty soon if the agency in Jamaica was legit they cd go thru proper channels

my god mother adopted and she is jamaican and both were private adoptions she wd never go thru the process fo picking a child from teh homes for this very reason
