BA admits mistake with fake bin Laden boarding pass

London, England (CNN) -- British Airways admitted making a mistake Thursday after Osama bin Laden's name appeared on a boarding pass printed in an internal staff magazine.

"We are working hard to find out how this occurred," a spokesman said.

News outlets reported the picture appeared on the front of LHR News, the internal staff magazine for BA employees at London's Heathrow Airport.

It accompanied a story on the airline's plans for having boarding passes appear on mobile phones.

The front-page picture shows a man checking in using a boarding pass on his phone. In the foreground, someone else holds a phone closer to the camera with another boarding pass more clearly visible, and that pass has bin Laden's name.

The pass shows a frequent flyer number for the world's most wanted terrorist, and the date of the ticket is October 26, 2010, according to a picture printed in the Daily Mail newspaper.
