The judge isn't charged with solving society's ills.</div></div>

The judge is public servant and he represents the law of the land. He shows recklessness by making a statement that could bring misinterpretation to a hot issue in society. <span style="font-style: italic">Evidence: we are discussing it here in GD</span>

In meting out the sentence, he should have focused on the case itself. He <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">could</span></span> have said, <span style="font-style: italic">You sir have come to this country to take advantage of its welfare without contributing blah blah</span>. He is using the case/punishment of this individual to send a message to others like him - he is making an example out of this criminal.
