I made no assumption,(Senghor did) what came out of Europe, is a europization of what was originally take out of Afrika, hence the reason why it is dangerous and self-destructive to trying and adopt those foreign adaptations which is now alien to what was its original source. Had it not be alien no promulgation, assimilation or instantiation would be necessary.

as i said before an i cut an paste it here therein is the error,....there is no call to adOpt...rather , it is to adApt ....<span style="font-weight: bold">shades of differences</span>...the call to adapt came after the methods of the ;conquering race' and their assumption that they were bring enlightenment not to mention superior ways of life to the 'dark continent'...there was no adopting...it was thrust upon as being superior to wat was found there...the universal error in judgement made by all the colonising europeans....

Adoption is often a forced, coercive(thrust upon) experience to the Adoptee....what Senghor was saying is do not resist adoption, embraced it as a prerequisite to Liberation/ADAPTATION.

Whomever wrote or compiled the piece you posted, when to pains to show that Senghor vis-a-vis Negritude call for the ADOPTION of European cultural values as a strategic moves towards liberation - which I assume is the ADAPTATION process or part.
