Gunmen rob Karl Samuda

Karl Samuda, JLP General Secretary. The St. Catherine Police have launched a major manhunt for armed thugs who invaded the home of Karl Samuda, Industry, Commerce and Investment Minister and Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary.

Gunmen reportedly terrorised workers and Mr. Samuda’s sister-in-law, who were at the St. Catherine property at the time.

They made off with a 12 gauge shotgun and an undetermined amount of ammunition.

Mr. Samuda has expressed outrage at the invasion of his home.

“I got a call at about 2 o’clock to say that two gunmen invaded my home, held up my helper and forced her to take them throughout the house. One of them held up my sister-in-law who was at a cottage next door.

“The gunmen forced workers who were there to cut open a safe and they stole a 12 gauge shot gun and about four packs of 12 gauge cartridges and generally ransacked the entire house and left,” Mr. Samuda said.

The senior ranking member of the Bruce Golding Cabinet was unable to say whether the attack may have been triggered by the government's crack-down on organised criminal networks across the country.

“It's just a serious assault on me and my home, my relatives and staff. We have to drive the fear of God into every gunman who carries a gun so that they will understand that to hold an illegal gun is to subject themselves to the most severe punishment that this country can render,” Mr. Samuda told RJR News in an interview.

i guess someone failed to send these guys the memo that the gov't had cracked down on crime;

aye sah...dem even tief him shotgun...

sad to say i can see jamaica going the way of haiti or even somalia if some drastic changes doan gwaan roun here...

so his solution is to dis-arm the gunmen?

Well does this mean that despite the recent &quot;crackdown&quot; on criminals, that crime is still going on uninterrupted...?


Either that or someone forget to inform some gunmen that they are now supposed to be angels.

With the educated amongst us not Even able to recognize the solution if iT hit them in the face, it certainly will.

What make it so difficult to realize that the second ammendment was about regaining security in a lawless American.

What make educated people feel do helpless faced with such a common problem? ?

What us the use of an education if You can't use UT to solve life's problem? ?


I am more disgusted with the educated Jamaicans than with the criminals.

At least the criminals are doing what criminals normally do.

The educated on the other hand are proving to be incapable of doing what educated are supposed to be able to Do.

Come on people grow some spine.


Don't run back to colonial master's frocktails.

The. Maroons lasted longer than these educated.

And The didn't get the benefits of the best education the country could offer

Education is a terrible thing to waste on people .

Doesn't this prove That he was speaking the truth?

Wow !! How is That so difficult to understand?

I mean would They have gone to rob him if he was still colluding with them??
And We expect the uneducated to understand if the educated have such difficulty??

He expressed confidence in the police to crack the case.</span>

You all say those criminals were sending a &quot;message&quot; and I agree. The message was not only intended for him but for others who are thiking of following in his footstep. Let's see how many of our MP's are now willing to denounce the Dons and reject their affiliations to their political organizations. I guess the names of these gunmen were not on the JCF list because they were unknown backups. Brucie seems to have tackled the easy obvious part of the problem, he aint doin nuttn yet!
