Where as in the US, the phrase Merry Christmas is often substituted with Happy Holidays, and you will seldom see
Christmas trees in public places. There is always a huge Christmas tree at Dubai Airport, and even a bigger one
at the biggest mall there. You will see Merry Christmas signs in all the stores and the cashiers at the
supermarket wear Santa hats. One of the senior vice presidents at the company I work for sends an Worldwide-All
email to all the employees with his traditional Christmas poem. All of these things possible in a Muslim country,
and frowned upon in a so called open minded Christian country like America due to political corectness.

the country markets itself as a sort of mini &quot;cannes&quot; ...sans the debauchery(sp) of say ibiza, from what I have observed...for the wealthy jetsetters of the world , so it would look a way if them never have nuh xmas celebration/reference

LOL, what an understatement!

Anyway, dunno nothing about America cos only been in California in the summer, but do remember Christmas time in Mali and Senegal, even tho they are Muslim, Christmas is still celebrated (invited for Christmas brunch in Gorée, Senegal, by lovely Senegalese family) and cotton wool balls on the walls - snow! in the Sahel! - and Xmas lights in a little local restaurant - frequented by Peace Corpers - in Segou, Mali.

I love Christmas in 30 - 35*!! (somewhere around 86F)

The reason you wont see one (Christmas Tree) at many public places in the States is because of pressure applied by religious groups, including Muslims to ban them because they are offensive.

Again, we are afraid to hurt peoples feelings so we go PC crazy!

I see them all the time.

I love seeing them especially out in Cali and down in Florida - I love incongruity with the heat and the Christmas tree.

Anyway, I'm thinking about all the states I've lived in ...

They're ubiquitous here in NY.

The job I worked at when I lived in Wichita had them out in the parking lot and at the front of the building every season - and they're all over town.

The main drag downtown had decorations galore come Christmas time.

Heck, even the WHite House has a Christmas tress on each lawn (and a Menora)

Sooooo glad I don't live in the south anymore but when we lived in SC, again, you find them all over.

Massachusetts - everywhere. (dont even mention New England)

Maryland - ditto.

That's just to name a few.

Not sure where you all live that you &quot;seldom&quot; see christmas trees in public places.

I wouldn't even mention the amount of trees around when it comes to xmas shopping, santas in the mall, etc.

Yes, of course there's the whole pc thing that happens in America. And yes, political correctness seemingly gets worse everyday. It's a cancer.

Still - it's not at alllll seldom, that trees are seen in public spaces in the US.
