Re: BP STOPPED THE OIL!
It will be days before There can be sure That it stop.
Since it can be leaking anywhere in the 13000, feet of pipe casing.
if it ruptures That will be the bigger problem.
Whether the casing is secure enough to maintain the pressure That closing those valves will cause.
.
It has failed before it can fail again.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Yuri_</div><div class="ubbcode-body"><span style="font-style: italic">... mi comin' wid di link dem ...</span> </div></div>

Re: BP STOPPED THE OIL!
Ahhhhh - yeah - that's what it says in the article I posted. They've been saying this all week.

Re: BP STOPPED THE OIL!
You have to wonder - whatever they did today, this week - why didn't the do this from the jump?
Clearly they were flying by the seat of their pants.
What's scarier - when the heads of 5 major oil companies testified on capitol hill last month, they all had the same contingency spill plans as BP.

Their common sense should have told them that since the pressure was the problem, they should fix the connection first then worry about containment after.
Instead they panicked and tried to cap it under pressure - in every sense of the word. In this case they allowed the oil to continue flowing while they modified the damaged section.

Re: BP STOPPED THE OIL!
well i bought in at £3.30 a couple weeks back... Got greedy should have bought in at £3.00...thought it would fall to b£2.50... sitting on 20% profit...the releif wells will connect...But this saga is not over there is a possibility that there will be further complications when they try to kill the well.. if the leak is up one the well head in one od the casing annulus.. ie say between the 20" and the conductor it may take some added complication..
Note this is a temp fix..
