actually i have always thought it meant all people of colour....all those who had a tinge to dem skin, like di Italians, Jews etc...memba dat nuff Europeans have a tinge dat come from di Moors etc, an of course di Hispanics etc

all those people were locked out of American mainstream in the early days of migration to America...memba di Jews were active in the civil rights cause u would have signs dat said 'no Jews r blacks'

maybe not racist but more stupid/outdated...

the term 'colored' to describe people's race/ethnicity is primitive...
but once ideas get entrenched they are extremely hard to change...

anyone who accepts the term 'colored' is not using their brain...
if they were, they would label the people who labeled them that as 'colorless'...
