Ontario has an "enhanced" drivers license for border crossing into the US.
Heres another way it could be used for commercial truck drivers:
A trucker has a enhanced RFID drivers licence. At 8 am he passess a weigh/ truck inspection station that is closed. at 10pm that same nite, he has crossed two state lines and the weigh station is open. Bada Bing---before he even crosses the scale, sensors pick up that at 8am he passed a closed weigh station and he is over his hours of service becasue he has driven a distance of 14 hours travel time.
