Florida to adopt Arizona type immigration law

...although declared "illegal" in Arizona and challenged by the Obama administration, Florida supposedly is planning to "adopt" a similar type law.

Accdng to the news report I heard, there are over 1million plus UNDOCUMENTED immigrants in the State of Florida... ...this is an alarming statistic for a rather poor state.

Arizona type immigration law may come to Florida? What do Hillsborough County residents think?


Do you like the newly passed immigration law in Arizona? Would you like the same type of law to be passed in Florida? There are several lawmakers in the Tampa Bay area that would like to see similar laws passed right here in Tampa. New Port Richey Senator Mike Fasano spoke with ABC Action News and said that Arizona’s immigration law is not unconstitutional. Do you agree? If so, will this impact your votes this coming November?


Fasano continued stating that what lawmakers propose for Florida would be a secondary offense. Therefore a person’s civil rights would not be violated. Essentially, police would not profile a person and pull them over, but rather once someone is pulled over for a crime, they would be asked to answer questions regarding their status as a citizen.


Current Tampa Bay politicians running for election, who are considering a Florida immigration law similar to that of Arizona include Bill McCollum (gubernatorial candidate), Rick Scott (gubernatorial candidate) and Todd Marks who is running for the Florida House.

I wonder about this

Well, what if all states were to go the same route as the State of Arizona? New York has it's [what do *I* know?] of undocumented immigrants as well, but is this the appropriate way to go?

It is already challenged in the courts by the current administration, so who is the dummy here?

I can imagine there are many who are quaking in their boots, but this is wha help to make the evi "America" great, there is always the courthouse.

There is some Republican candidate for the Florida house of reps who proposes that illegal immigrants be locked up in camps.

Basically it is law that the governor proposed whereby [don't quote mi] permission was given to law enforcement folks to stop &quot;anyone, who was suspected of being an undocumented immigrant&quot; [in a nutshell]


soh whedder one is a Latino/Hispnic, the group that would be most likely targeted, BUT an American born person, it would NOT matter.. because he/she fits the profile...bordering on a racist type agenda.

A chrroo, but dem noh haff enuff jails to hold all who they would suspect, so dem need fi goh siddung and deal wid other pressing issues like the high foreclosure rate, among other things and stop looking silly with a proposed law that surely won't fly.

I don't think &quot;Florida&quot; is in the process of adopting this law. There are a few candidates that are running campaigns saying 'we need this law here'. These candidates are not doing well in the polls.

IMO, Lobbyist would never let it pass. Florida makes money off sugar cane, citrus fruits, fishing and hospitality. These are industries are all bursting at the seams with undocumented immigrants.
