Re: Healthcare. There are some parts that are accessible now that benefit the young working who are uninsured because they are either working p/t &amp; going to school or are working in places where the employer does not offer benefits. It has benefited the seniors who have received or are in the process of receiving a check back to offset the donut hole of medicare. There is plenty more but mi just a peek in and wanted to respond to this. www.healthcare.gov

Thank you for the info Kia and as an added note, the vast majority of the opposition to health care reform/aid to the poor comes from the private health care industries who stand to lose out in any single payer universal healthcare system AND the people on the right who oppose socialism in any form.
Those who are average working people and oppose single payer universal health care or the first steps towards that which is the present reform package are shooting themselves in the foot because they believe the lies told to them by the right and by the private industries.

The health care system in the United States is a disgrace. It costs three times what a single payer universal health care system would cost and doesn't work for tens of millions of people. This makes no sense in the richest country on Earth and not supporting change is just plain stupid. True, the Obama plan is a tiny step toward SPUHC and a big win for private industry at the moment but at least it's a beginning that can be improved with future legislation once the people of the country are considered before the corporations profits.

I disagree in the sense that a President sometime have to be a LEADER and make decision based on his vision for the country. If the President of US JUST rely on what the majority in the polls say we would never have civil right, voters right, black serving in the military etc etc today. Those were never popular with the masses.. The people who so call hate HC reform have their own personal agenda and hatred going on .. they saw HC as helping “underserved poor people and black people”

And you can’t want Gov services without paying taxes. ..and I say its time for the rich to pay their share. Enuff free ride already!!

All your positions reflect the views of right wing radio which are wrong both morally, and factually .

All the talk about the mosque being financed by terrorist organizations is sensationalist crap.
The 37 million people who are unable to afford healthcare do not think Obama's plan (weak as it is) is a bad thing. You pay a lot of taxes for the wars the U.S wages around the world for no good reasons. Health care is a very good reason to spend the money from taxes. Raise the taxes from the rich who don't pay taxes.
