Speeding Ticket

Anyone on here ever fought a speeding ticket and won?

Any advice?

We contested the ticket - that is, went in to the first scheduled date and spoke to the prosecutor. Couldn't be resolved and now going back for the date before the judge.

I just send my ticket and $50 payment to the Ticket Clinic and they take care of it...the police officer pretty much NEVER shows up

In fact - my car - the same Nissan Pathfinder I've been going on about down in "cars"
was the one I was driving.

The car couldn't even GO! over 49mph because of the transmission.

Officer says radar says we were going 68 in a 50.

well present this evidence ...ask for discovery of the evidence that will be presented against you (usually the notes of the police officer) ask for the certification information on the radar equipment( when it was last tested for accuracy). ask about the officers currency on usage of the radar. (dats how dem do it i Canada)

Success with my mechanic - I have all that documentation.

No luck on the discovery tho - they say we have to request it when we get to court.

so if dem nuh give you the info ahead of time when you go to court ask for a reschedule to another date so that you can prepare you defense.

Sad to say this ..but mi always fight mi tickets dem (shame fi tell yuh how much time )
I got one that was from the speed cameras that mi pay cause it was jus $40. But when a cop pull mi over ..it's see you in court baby

What happens in most cases the cop doan show and di charges are dropped ..or if dem show mi tell di judge how much im look nice ina black cloak an den im drop di fee

BTW - what these peopel calling &quot;speed&quot; today is Ludacris!!

I usually fight tickets, cause odds are in my favor to win. I have only received on speeding ticket and yes I was speeding. I used the traffic clinic sumting Bizi referred to, cause we have that option here in Florida.

From what I hear, the use of the radar gun makes it hard to beat speeding tickets, but if you car has issues, maybe a letter from the mechanic will help. Or if you have diagnostic exam results, that could help too.

You could also get lucky and the cop will not show up. After X amount of times, they throw the ticket out. Sometimes you get lucky and they throw it out the first time. Sometimes the Cop does not have his notes together properly and you ge off on a technicality. He says red Nissan and you car is blue.

i never said thatw a steh cost fo the ticket...the ticket would be more roun 200-300 bucks...but the cost of gettin an attorney or whoever on it is about $50

CAR / TRANSMISSION - MECHANICAL PROBLEMS DON’T ALLOW GOING OVER 48MPH

NOT POSSIBLE TO SPEED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
Construction had ongoing on all month where lanes slowed to merge -
I contacted the Port Authority of NY &amp; NJ directly and spoke to and got verification from, Christopher Perryman, Maintenance Unit Supervisor about this -
2 types of road construction was going on that night – see documentation
After exiting route X, you have to slow until you pass under the last overpass -
See supporting documentation from NY Port of Authority: Maintenance Division; it wasn’t possible to speed because of need to slow –


NO NEED TO SPEED
I was not late for work, so I had no need to speed –
I’m never late for work, see my EZ Pass record -
I’m due at work every day at X, see my schedule attached –
I have never gotten a speeding ticket, see my clean driving record for reference –


UNRELIABLE INFORMATION
First, the court sent me a notice that I missed my X/X/10 court date. This is completely wrong. I was there and spoke to the prosecutor. See proof attached. I don’t know why or how they sent me a notice saying I missed my court date – this makes me wary of other supposed evidence being used against me

I called the court to ask about getting information I requested information from the Municipal Court about the radar the officer used because there was no way it could be accurate. They told me to call the parking authority. I called the parking authority and spoke to Dir. Tom Flemming. He told us that we would have to wait until we get to court that information, so I’d like to request that information now, if possible …
