You don't understand social dynamics.
No sector or citizenry become trustworthy spontaneously.
That requires system in place to to make it less rewarding to be dishonest are more rewarding to be trustworthy.
This is how it is in every society where government functionaries act in a trustworthy manner.
It is not s good idea to sit back and wish this will change to the desirable way.
It is the responsibility of the educated to implement the changes to achieve the desired result.
20 years after the US got independence They had a worse situation.

And look how they turn out.

Stop expecting others to initiate required changes.

Or worse expecting it to be changed spontaneously.
We are the educated.
It is our responsibility to institute This.
If the country fails it is our fault.

or Barbados in heath care...

Is it me or do you guys have more faith in UWI trained doctors than yanki trained doctors...

(Last month I was in Barbados and had to take the mosters to the doctor.. .I checked that they all went to UWI.. one of the doctors asked me why? I explained that I had more faith in UWI doctors than yaki trained or cuban trained!)

BAJANS may be far from being the wealthiest people on Earth, but they certainly aren't doing too badly in the money department.

For, according to a global survey conducted by The Economist, Barbados was 52nd on the list of the world's wealthiest nations as measured by their per capita income – gross domestic product and purchasing power parity – but among members of the Organisation of American States, only the United States, Canada and The Bahamas had higher levels of economic well-being in 2003 than Barbados.

Barbados' per capita income, GDP, was put at just under US$10 000, less than a third of America's at US$37 240. In addition, Barbados' was much less than Canada's US$27 190, and the Bahamas' US$16 590. On the other hand, Barbados' level of wealth per person was more than Trinidad and Tobago's US$8 010, Mexico's US$6 050, and Chile's US$4 590.

But that's only a part of the story. Several non-independent territories in the Caribbean and the Atlantic were better off than Barbados. For instance, Bermuda's GDP per capita was slightly less than US$40 000, a figure that put it in the world's Top 10 – eighth, to be exact.

Then there were the Cayman Islands, 14th with US$30 950; the United States Virgin Islands, 25th with US$22 230; Puerto Rico, 36th with US$17 460; Martinique, 41st with US$15 560; and the Netherland Antilles, 50th with US$11 140. Guadeloupe was 57th . . . US$7 950.

The country with the world's highest GDP per capita was Luxembourg with US$59 990, followed by Norway, US$49 080; Switzerland, US$46 460; and Denmark, US$39 330.

When it came to purchasing power parity (PPP), Barbados' was put at US$15 060 per person as compared with Bermuda's US$35 940, Cayman Island's US$30 590; Aruba's US$28 000; and The Bahamas' US$16 140.

However, Trinidad and Tobago's PPP was US$10 390; Jamaica's US$3 790; and Haiti's US$1 730.

looked at the ranking ..the only Caribbean islands included in the survey were Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica
