Lauderdale Lakes —
Detectives have opened a homicide investigation into the Saturday death of a 22-month-old Lauderdale Lakes girl.
Jamisa Poitier died in her home in the 4000 block of Northwest 34th Way, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Judy Morris, Jamisa's grandmother, told WSVN-Channel 7 that she found the child unresponsive. "I was going to do CPR, and when I checked her little pulse, I said, 'She's dead,'" Morris told Channel 7 on Saturday.

Following an autopsy, the Broward County medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.
Broward Sheriff's spokeswoman Dani Moschella said Sunday that exactly how the girl died is not being disclosed.
Moschella said the Sheriff Office's Child Protective Investigative Services was conducting an investigation separate from that of homicide detectives to determine if the home is safe for any other children who may live there.
Anyone with information about Jamisa's death is asked to call Detective Scott Champagne on BSO's non-emergency number, 954-765-4321, or Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477), or online at http://www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
Crime Stoppers can pay up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of a suspect.
