Kia, What you say is true BUT...there is no denying that many people voted for Obama because he was (part) black, was different from all the white men that came before him.

There is no way someone who checked into Obama's platform, speeches or books could go and vote for him and expect anything other than what he has done -or not done unless they just voted for him because of his skin color.

I would say that there were probably a good number of white people who figured &quot;What the Hell, we might as well try a (sort of) black man&quot; especially since Obama didn't seem to be a facety trouble maker like Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

As a follow up to his speech, there was a thousand dog march at the Ralston-Purina Senate Building protesting Obama's likening himself to man's best friend and the GOP's calling him an S.O.B.

Shall is the operative word since anything solid that Obama can accomplish will have to be in the future.

My guess is that when President Palin is sworn in in 2012 , fulfilling the Mayan prophecy, not much will have changed under President Obama.

Oh, I COULD be wrong but so far I've pegged and predicted the general directions of Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and Obama accurately.

They were all bad for the world and especially bad for the poor of the world.

Faith should only be applied to religion where facts do not matter and should not be applied to capitalist politicians who invariably lie. Lying is a major part of their job and a huge part of the President's job. They HAVE to lie and not just little white lies but lies to cover their criminal actions.
It makes no sense putting your faith in people who lie for a living.

Another senior moment for me.


To answer your question : All we ever have to depend on when electing a candidate based on what he or she says they will do or try to is faith.

You believe they are telling the truth but there is no way to prove future happenings so you have to go on faith. In the case of Obama he had no real track record as far as national policies go so you had to take him at his word or, more realistically, as he was presented by his handlers.
Those who have read his book (s?) say that Obama in the book does not resemble the Obama that got him elected and in fact that his book made him out to be a go along/status quo type of politician which, of course, you have to be to be in the Democrat (or Republican) party and which you must be to get your party nomination and which Obama turned out to be.

Obama has 2-1/2 years to go so we shall have to wait for the final verdict on his term in office . All we can say is that so far, he has been a disappointment to those who held out great hopes for his administration only to find he's different from Bush in party affiliation and skin color alone.

But.... have faith

If &quot;too black&quot;means telling it like it is as Malik el Shabazz did as people like Al Sharpton often does then no, Obama is not too black.
He is mixed race, not your typical Afro-American and loyal to what the Democrat Party has always been.
He has a non-threatening manner as far as racists are concerned that make him acceptable.
He could be white or blue or green. His race or mixture of races does not make him any better or worse a president than any who came before him.
