This is such a destructive myth.. based on idiots who visit, who mistake our more obvious poverty with indolence.. We are acheivers.. I learnt this very early on in my travels......my experience of Jamaicans are they are the most task focused people on the planet.... We are driven.....Find a Jamaican anywhere at home or abroad and you find a person with a plan that he will be focused on....Always we are looking for the oppertunity..

Bolt is the prime example of us.. He dances around jokes...flirts laugh dances..then at the split seacond he is totally focused.. Bob had it gentle trusism then killer buisness instistints.. how do we get that living colour reputation of being working 12 jobs ????? Watch how many Jamaicans have two or three jobs at home.. who run tings on the side...

Question how many Jamaicans on here get told thought all you were was&quot; no problem&quot; .. Or is that only me when I rip some one a new arce whole for not delivering on time....

What people see is the joy we have living.. they never notice the sudden brutal burst of focus..

we act.. we dont discuss.... this may be a failing but it is us more than the rest of the world.. and I note that seacond generation ex pat Jamaicans lose that.. I suspect this may be due to the political alliance that draw us..

this is the kinda stuff that makes Jamaicans overseas get the stupid &quot;why did you leave that Paradise&quot; question.
My answer is always, you possibly visited Jamaica as a tourist, and note all the &quot;touristy&quot; activities.. You come back to u home country and proclaim that Jamaica is an island where all the people walk round saying &quot;ire&quot; and &quot;Yah mon&quot; and seem happy like a lark..
That would be like me going to Disney World in Orlando, observing the Disney offerings, then going back to Jamaica and tell people how Americans walk around in Mickey mouse, Minnie mouse, and Goofy (and the lot) costumes all day, smiling and waving and singing happy songs...
.. ignorance is dangerous..
