always wondered y people i knew who lived in the projects would not mek di place look decent...dem would seh is not deres but i would say but u live deh so y not be comfortable

what you suspect? mi tek lunch break at bakrah (of course) ahn run into one parent weh did previously come up ah di school wid har pikney ah give sob story about how she a do di best she can, ah she one, no one nu help har, she go ah dis place ahn she ask dis one, ahn is juss hard. mi know for a fact that when school start, dem tek up money ahn refer har fi services. di ooman get grocery, money fi bus fare, clothes fi di pikney, plus school supplies. dem all get har money fi pay har back rent ahn electricity.
k...so mi get that...people need help. mi not hard.
tiddey mi spot har inna di grocery (while mi on lunch)...she says she in deh doing shopping for the family, as she juss get ah next money fi buy grocery...
what she have in har cart?
pop tarts (not even store brand)
steam shrimps
di already fried chicken
frozen french fries
cake
koolade
bread
hot dogs
sliced bacon (not even store brand)
oodles of noodles
cup of noodles
box cereal (not even store brand)
...yes, peer fawt.
k...mi go back to school ahn ah chat wid di counselor weh work wid har fi get services...mi hear seh di ooman was up at di school day before a beg money fi utility so mi had to ask...weh she live. mi fine out she live ova one ah di mix income community, daht di house did new when she get it. how much she pay ah month time seh is rent?
$22.00 dyam dollars
...of course di house (mi understand) is disrepair.
