OBEAH MEN UNDER ATTACK - Thugs complain spells to keep them from jail not working

The tables have seemingly turned on a number of obeah men who are now complaining of being under attack, just weeks after boasting of an increase in profits from thugs who were visiting them to stay out of jail.
THE WEEKEND STAR has been told that the cronies of a number of the gangsters who are in police custody have been attacking the obeah men because the so-called special oils, powders, baths and even prayers have failed.
Following the military incursion of Tivoli Gardens and its environs in west Kingston, the security forces put immense pressure of some members of the criminal underworld, identifying well over 30 alleged gangsters and gang leaders from various parts of the Corporate Area and St Catherine and urging them to surrender.
An unconfirmed number of these men are still in custody after turning themselves in to the police. It was later revealed to THE WEEKEND STAR that some thugs were forking out up to $30,000 for the services of obeah men who were said to possess the power to keep them out of the hands of the law.
One such obeah man, Father Murray, from a community in east Kingston, is now threatening to take 'powerful action' if he is attacked again.
Father Murray was attacked last week by a group of men who he alleged to be friends of a known gangster from central Kingston who is now in police custody. It is said that the gangster was among those who requested 'special help'.
"Yes man, a group a dem rush mi di other day, and throw pure stone after mi. A run mi haffi run go inna one man yard go hide," Murray told THE WEEKEND STAR.
He said that he was hit at least twice by the stones which were hurled at him and had to resort to his own healing methods to soothe the swellings.
He then went on to claim that two of his counterparts, one from St James and another from Clarendon, had contacted him and said they too were attacked recently.
Those two men strongly requested anonymity and even joked about casting spells if their names were used in this story.
However, they admitted to contacting Murray and telling him about their recent run-ins with gangsters who complained that their bosses were recently taken into custody and as a result wanted a refund.
The obeah man from St James said he was not physically harmed but claimed to being involved in a verbal altercation some two weeks ago with a group of men. The men he said argued that their 'boss' was taken into custody but released shortly after.
"Some yute come visit mi, mi neva know a suh dem bareface, di man dem all a threaten mi inna my own place ... Mi affi explain to dem seh a so di powers work and a di powers mek di police release dem boss," he explained.
spent $20,000
However, the obeah man from Clarendon claimed he was punched in the face by a known gangster. He refused to give much details of the incident but said his attacker who had spent $20,000 on special help from him was recently taken into custody and was also released some time later.
According to the three obeah men, the incidents were not reported to the police as they will take matters into their own hands if they are attacked again.
"Dem rush mi and fling stone lick mi, is alrite though mi not even a seh nuttin. Jus' mek it happen one next time," Father Murray said.
Meanwhile, checks with a number of police sources revealed that they had heard of the thugs soliciting help from obeah men but were unaware of the new twist in the story.
"When it comes to these criminals, you hear all sorts of arguments about things they are said to be involved in. The obeah thing is something we hear of but belief kills and cures so fly high, fly low if we want them, we will get them," an inspector attached to the Organised Crime Investigation Division said.
