OMG (((((Yuri))))) - dealing with death is hard enough but when it is so senseless and meaningless it is even harder... I am so sorry for your loss...

Right now the struggle is familiar - the funeral. There’s no money. Up here, we’re trying to see what we could do to pitch in.

J’s mom is quite ill and getting worse since the summer ended. She had/has 3 siblings. One in the UK – one in the US. Neither working – both crooked, if you get my meaning. One sibling is there in St Mary – I’m closest to her – she has no steady work either. Her husband is in one of the work hotel programs in Canada.

The children’s father – another young &amp; the restless drama.

They weren’t married but living together for a good while – scratching out a living but surviving though.

All of a sudden some time a back – brips – he ups and marries a girl and moves to the US. Turns out he had been planning it all along. No one knows where in the US he is. He can’t help.

I was thinking that maybe there could be an appeal to the hotel to help with the services. Not for the whole thing but, just <span style="font-style: italic">some</span> kind of assistance – any! What you all think – would it be wrong to ask that of the hotel?

Yuri, condolences to you and your family; you are all in my prayers...

When I read the story yesterday, I thought about it, and we t as far as thinking that she died &quot;in the line of duty..&quot; trying to protect her job and employer...on that note, they should be able to come up with some assistance for the burial, and added to that; they should have some sort of insurance on her life, that could pay for her final expenses..

As for the scumbags [couldn't resist] who see fit to commit these wanton acts...may they get their due...

And yes, I believe the hotel should help, in a big way... they should've offered...

Yes Nunya - not pretty - beyond tragic.

We just learned this morning, that the security company has stated that they're only going to give 2 weeks pay. I have NO idea what that can do.

I am so sorry to hear, so senseless and brutal. I am shocked that the Security company is only helping with two weeks salary. I would have thought they would have some type of insurance on their employees injured/dying in the line of duty. Someone should also approach the Hotel it sounds to me like she was an employee of the security company but placed in the hotel, but mebbe they will still help I hope so.

But you know, sadly - ah suh tings run ah yahd - any an any which way ...

We're looking at getting some legal help but the obstacles are the one bag ah money dat gweh tek.

On top of that, there's no one there really savvy enuff to deal with this.

My mom is up here right now and slated to go back down in a week and it may fall on her shoulders to get into the legal bones of this.

But I don't know if she can manage it - it's way too stressful for her. I'm looking at my options of taking some leave time from work.

I just don't know - don't know what to do as it just all seems so futile.
