A burglary suspect in full camouflage was arrested after he was found hiding in the woods near the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Gregory Liascos, 36, of Portland, was found by deputies and a K-9 unit Thursday; Liascos was dressed head-to-toe in a sniper suit, said Dave Thompson, a sheriff's spokesman.
On Wednesday, a caretaker at the museum noticed that a hole had been secretly cut in the bathroom, apparently for Liascos to get in and out of the building, Thompson said.
When deputies arrived Thursday to search the area they found a bicycle and a backpack that were out of place, so they brought a K-9 unit, Thompson said. The K-9 led deputies to a wooded area and when the dog bit the ground, Liascos, hiding in a Ghillie suit, cried out in pain.
Liascos was then arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
