My last comment on this:
Williams is also not thinking clearly about people dressed in MIDEAST garb on his plane.
Did the 9/11 people wear Arab garb? No, they wore clothes that made them look like Joe the Plumber.
Williams must think that people who are going to blow up a plane are going to board that plane in the most suspicious looking get-up they can find.

Like wearing a big "Terrorist" sign on them.

Hey, Obama is a radical Muslim and he doesn't wear Arab get ups and he is more of a menace to the country than bin Ladin.
(I have this last part from right wing radio and the 20% of Americans who think Obama is a Muslim.)

The term garb was where I had a problem but some folks I spoke to say the usage of the word is fine. It sounds offensive to me but per the dictionary it seems like it may be the correct usage.


I think FOX made a great move hiring him. They are biased political but they are also a business. They are taking advantage of the controversy. They get to claim they have a moderate black man to add to the &quot;fair and balanced&quot; network. The get a ratings boom and more advertisements. They win on all accounts.

..getting back to the hypocrites....Williams, in view of the anti Mus-lim sentiments in this country, must have felt it would be okay to make that statement without any possible repercussions...point being that sentiment is heard on a daily basis especially in NYC...even inn the news media..so why all the hooplah now?...

What an idiot. NPR was right to fire Juan Williams. As human beings, none of us are free from prejudice. Still Williams, as a black man, civil rights &quot;expert&quot;, social commentator, and news analyst, should be more thoughtful and circumspect in his comments and explain why those feelings - maybe normal for some people - are wrong. My 2¢s is that any &quot;analyst&quot; who believes that &quot;terrorists&quot; will show up at a U.S. airport wearing &quot;Muslim garb,&quot; is a terrible analyst.

Plus, O'Really had Juan on his show looking for support in his previous flap on The View, where Bill intimated that all Muslims (may be) terrorists, while trying to keep the Ground Zero Mosque outrage story alive. So Juan says that he is afraid when he sees &quot;them&quot; at the airport when &quot;they&quot; are wearing their &quot;garb.&quot; He is just throwing fuel on the fire.
