We have been conditioned to think either, PNP or JLP. Indeed it has been a long time coming, radical change. A recognition of us being enslaved to a mono-thinking of some messiah coming out of the PM being elected has kept us like sheep to a shepherd, like dogs to their masters.
The political parties enjoy themselves the subjects they condition to be at their disposal, the Jamaican people.

That was in the 70s when Winkler wrote that book. Nowadays, the colonial past is not so much detested, but more envied.
30-40 years on now in 2010, the realization is that the failure of our destiny has more to do with us and not them.
We have been more wicked to ourselves than they were to us. Where we would have expected better from ourselves and less from them, we have been terribly let down as a modern nation.

in that last interview i did not hear her mention anything about god...she was dealing with the issues facing jamaica...
although the fear (respect) of god is the beginning of wisdom...

portia was just over the top with it...

we are still products of our colonial/ slave past as witnessed by the fact that that no black female leader will ever dare appear in public without a creme or weave

I have to applaud her for being gutsy enough to attempt this move in establishing a &quot;third&quot; er! er! er! ~ Fourth party as she puts it. We all know that all newly attempted parties are third parties and that will be the designation of the NCC... Only time will tell whether or not she's got &quot;what it takes&quot; to make it relevant in Jamaica where many before have tried third parties and came up short... It's a pity that she was a former partner with Antoinette Haughton who has discredited herself in the eyes of the Jamaican people; It's left to be seen if she can overcome any negative attributes from that association with her..
