Jamaican orphanage

In December I plan to visit some orphanages in JA. Can any one here provide contact info for children homes in JA. I would like to donate to ones where the children are truly being a top priority.

Childrens Home of Jamaica in Kingston.. want to say up Hope Rd

They deal with a lot of handicapped children

our own monk has an organization that does outreach to children - not necessarily in orphanages but doing awesome and measurable work

check out soul rebellion . . .

also friends of jamaica and the one love project have projects taking place at various times in jamaica - one organization did an eyeglasses drive - something so simple that bought comfort to so many

and there is also a recently opened meal kitchen that opened in westmoreland - the name escapes me right now - but our sistacaf volunteered there during her recent vacation to negril

i know these aren't orphanages but they are organizations that have a track record of doing good charitable work

One of the school groups here annually do their own fundraising and commit their 10 day winter vacation in JA to various projects such as building playgorunds or general improvements (painting etc), delivering school supplies and craft items etc to select 'homes' such as Marigold Children's Home of Safety, Our Lady of Hope in Black River, the Manning Boys’ Home, and recently Glenhope, which are all homes for abandoned and abused children or adolescent girls.
