These negative attack ads are taking up too much of my tv viewing time....if they are not busy bashing their opponents they are sharing sob stories about laid off single mothers or have their whole family fake-smiling for the cameras...


the big race to watch here in CT is Linda McMahon...wife of WWF (World Wrestling Federation) owner Vince McMahon...she is running for the senate against our current State Attorney General Dick Blumenthal...I have ties to Dick and he is an a-hole...otherwise he is great at getting the job done...I have written a few nasty letters threatening people and all I have to do is mention his name and they respond to me in lightning speed. I will be voting for him.

I am tired of them too. My kids actually look forward to one of these political ads (see below at 25 seconds). In the ad it says "David Rivera lies". My kids love it and repeat the term jokingly around the house.

Pepper educating voters is a thing of the past. Voter don't want to be educated.

I think politicians learned years ago that all you need to do is have enough money and say what people want to hear.

It ridiculous when you see some of the candidates that are going to win office. Rick Scott in our state could actually become the governor. This guy company ripped of tax payers with the Medicare/Medicaid fraud, is running on his business record and is tied in the polls with his opponent. This is a crazy year and we will have some crazy people elected...

I just read an article about a woman running in Washington and she start airing these ads with graphic pics of abortion, the tv stations have to carry it but youtube won't post it so why did I google it? It is now seared in my brain.

Great sums of money is what wins elections not the qualifications of the candidates.

The recent Supreme Corporation ruling allows anyone to spend as much money as they want to advertising things they are for and things they are against.

That is happening as we write.

Huge sums of money are being thrown at campaigns for and against candidates and issues by unidentified sources.

As expected the big money comes from big money to support conservative causes and pro-business candidates.

Since something like 95% of the candidates with the most money to spend on a campaign win, democracy is effectively thrown out the window and replaced with an oligarchy, rule by the wealthy.

But wait...before we can even get to supporting this candidate or that candidate, the candidates have to be NOMINATED.

You and I, the electorate, the voters, the people whom the candidates will represent if elected DO NOT GET TO NOMINATE the person who will represent us in government.

The MEMBERS of each political party decide who will best serve the purposes of the Party and nominate that person to be the party's candidate, the person YOU are then allowed to vote for.
That person is then &quot;given&quot; a ton of money by the rich and powerful, the corporations to use to spend on his/her political campaign.

They are then in debt to those who gave them that money that enabled them to gain office AND they already know that they have to serve the purposes of the PARTY before they even think of serving their constituents.

Somebody has to fill me in (even though I have an idea) what is the big gran grab to hold the title of Senator. I am CONVINCED that it is the TITLE these people are after more so than to effect change and do any good fi dem constituence.

As fi di ediat votas dem ... Well put it dis way..the Reps are polling high in the uneducated (HS only/drop out) demographics. Not my opinion.. dat is facts

Skelly to answer your question MD/DC is so BLUE ... DARK DARK blue dat very few republicans even step foot in dis state. (praise Gad fi small mercies)

Our governor is back up for re-election against a republican who won couple years ago beccause MD assumed the DEM was a shoe in and neva goh vote. Wi fiyah im 4 yrs ago an im a come back. Now im fiyah up the MDers to goh vote cause dem is reminded of what he did while in office. Wi paying higher taxes now because of him. YES - a REP raised TAXES Who would have thunked it
