came to a show in LR an ended up staying fi awhile....knew him from yaad wid di Dread at the Control show...one of the pioneers of reggae music being played on radio in Jamaica...yep..dere was a time wen u cudden hear our music on our own radio stations

PleXxy, I have to agree with you on Vanny writing a book "to rahtid" as you put it. Her knowledge of the period and the characters of which she spoke would make it a best seller; especially if it was a "Jamaican style tell all" book... It should be a blend of Patwa and standard English.. Just a thought Vannie..

Thanks so much Evan for that intensive list....

Looks like the most common causes of death were heart problems, cancer or murder.

One that especially hits me hard is Tenor Saw, whose music I loved. That death was brutal & unnecessary....such a loss & only 22 yrs. old.

Another reggae icon, Jacob Miller, gone too soon in a car accident....could have been a really great influence on the youth!

It would be nice to know the causes of death that were unknown or unlisted.....maybe we never will.....

Became familiar with Mikey Dread when living in CA....my first intensive search into reggae music back in '81.....a memorable segment of my life's experiences....hypnotic style....loved him.
