X, i am sincerely sorry fi hear bout di impact tuh yuh family member, however, I have to bi very honest. If dis hombre did indeed commit di crime, I have no sympathy fi dese parasites an how him met him demise. Too many times, is di innocent law abiding robbery victims dat get dem brains splattered over di pavement. It has become di norm.

No man J-Kid We cannot keep accepting this awful violence in Jamaica. People are being traumatized, especially the young peopl. Look, I was traumatized in Jamaica during the 1980s political violence and it was just what I read in the Gleaner at the time! How much worse it is for young people

Peasie, don't disagree dat di violence need fi stop. But in most case is di young doing di violence, and yes it need tuh stop.

Hoverer, sometimes it tek violence or di threat of violence fi send di message dat ah society has had enough. If dat was not di case, wi would not need curfew an di soldiers coming out to safeguard di safety our innocent women, children, and men.

It does not take violence (or its threat) to send the message that society has had enough. Sadly, the violence will never end that way and may, in fact, will only perpetuate more violence.

I don't know the answer to this problem.

What I do know is that when people start and build a grassroots movement, change can happen. What if, say, a group of children was organized to march in the streets with posters of slayings they have witnessed, who they've lost, etc.? This may be <span style="font-style: italic">one</span> way that folks can demonstrate against violence.

Not saying it would solve it, but it would bring it to everyone's attention.
