I might be confused: I know the fraud case was used as the lever...i thought the entire sentence was related to the fraud.

It's strange to me that we the fans and ticket buyers don't care if the singers we love are drugs users. We don't care if our actors are drug users who have countless partners and are seldom faithful for a year. We expect our writers and artists to be on some kind of drugs or alcoholic. We never question if our doctor's or lawyers, or politicians are using drugs or alcohol to excess. BUT, our athletes must be clean of ALL drugs... and their sex lives better be pretty normal too. Is this because we wager on the results of the games they play?

That's because our athletes arent human based on the pedestal we put them on but every one else is... Oh and we dont want them taking drugs cause they will get an unfair advantage (I guess that is why the lists arent limited to performance enhancing substances)
