I didnt because there was no where better than my home at the time... It seems to be more common in foreign than in Jamaica (at least back in the day) -

one day mi wen mi was 7 mi did run away...mi neva mek it further than the roof top...when mi did get clyde of eating mangoes and custard apple all day mi decided mi was gwen "go back home"...

Welll fi mi run wey jus en a get mi wan buss [censored]in.
I was about 7 yrs old and mi did bex an went on the house top claim sey mi a "run wey" (wi had stairs that led to the roof)
Mi hear mi Aunty an odda peeps a call fi mi an mi neva ansa.. Mi di itch up ina wan lickle corner an they had no idea I was on the roof. I even heard my aunt telling the neighbor who was a cop that it look like mi run wey to mi fren house an shi naah goh look fi mi.
Mi stay up dey til di next day which was a Sunday morning. (mi had to come dung cause hungry did a buss mi shut
) When mi waltz in, shi ask mi wey mi run wey goh? Mi tell sey mi did dey pan di roof an lawd a macy mi b@tty pay dat day. 
Needless to say, run wey was neva near my thoughts fram dat day fawod

<span style="font-style: italic"> Hobo</span> brought back a flood of memories
I grew up next to the railroad tracks and was fasinated by the hobos we seen.
mom would sometimes put a plate of leftovers out back, and we were not allowed near the hobos who would come eat.
I would take a big hankerchief and fill it with a bolonga sandwich and homemade fishing string and hang on a stick.
Off I'd go on an adventure looking for places in town or around the creeks that I hadnt been yet.
Usually got a whipping when I got home cause my shoes were wet and dirty

My youngest sibling ran away from home in Kingston at age 18. She ran away to NYC (she had green card) leaving note for Mommy on har dresser. I was in grad school in Boston at the time when she called me to tell me she had arrived at the Port Authority 
I had just started <span style="text-decoration: line-through">shacking up</span> living with Mr. PZ in a two-bedroom apt. and he said she was crazy and tell her to find her bahine right now to stay with us 
. She lived with us for three months, got herself a little place of her own, and the rest is history. Mi was as the go-between Sis and Mommy and dem wuk it out and Mommy never blamed her or was angry with her. And from den, all my family thought the world of Mr. PZ and dem force him to married to mi

one a mi likkle sister did run wey one time from st elizabeth she find arself a protmore
we never lived together so that particular saturday afternoon she came to my grandparents house wher I lived. I went Youth fellowship that afrernoon leaving her at home where she stole my shoes and somehow found her way to Portmore ...mi poor madda was up all night looking for her only to get word the next morning that she was in Portmore.
dat sister was a wicked girl when she was younger when she use to get inna trouble and she kno seh se was goin get a beatin she would go on the tank and threaten fe drown herself now she got 3 girls of her own and a pray to God dat none a dem tek afta her.Comment

when I was about nine or so I ran away to the tree house in the backyard.....cannot remember what I was mad about. So I packed a little box.... climbed the ladder to the treehouse and took all the foodstuff I think I needed one by one up there.
Well I was up there all day quite comfortable until I needed to use the bathroom. I decided to climb down and pee next to a shrub.....later on I needed to do number 2 and no way I was going to do that outside
So, I decided to go back to the house.....well my granmere locked all the doors, windows, crevice etc. I begged that I was sorry and I need to use the bathroom. She said go back to the same shrub that I pee on and poo guess she was watching out the back window. I went back to the treehouse got a bag and did my business 
my granpere came and got me when he got home from the office, I got a licking the next day as she could notgive me licks when he was home.
