Oh, how sad to hear (read) this, I am also a long-time Aretha fan...amazing woman!

I am actually dealing with this right now in my personal life, as my dad is dying of lymphatic cancer now, I have been taking care of him since the summer, but like he said "I've had a good innings" (he always loved his sport), and "Ok, you can shed a tear, but I want you to celebrate the wonderful life I had" - God bless him.
His all-time fave rave was Shirley Bassey, so I've been playing her a lot lately, reminiscing...

God, life can be cruel

My 20year old cousin is going thru treatment right now for cancer and is recovering from a stroke he suffered during surgery.

Cancer is a dutty jancrow fi true.
