in Canada still current...i am watching an episode of Fifth Estate dealing with the murder of one such young man...i caught a bit of it over the weekend n set the reminder to see it from start...one of the parts i caught was the bit re two Somalian teens who were given trips to Jamaica n were held wid drugs on their way bak at the airport...it doesnt say what year this was made so dat is y mi asking if it is current

Alta. homicides worry Somali-Canadians

Members of Toronto's Somali community are concerned after two Somali-Canadian men were murdered in northern Alberta last week.
RCMP investigators said Monday that two men found dead in an apartment complex in Fort McMurray, Alta., last week were victims of homicide.
Idiris Abess, 23, and Saed Adad, 22, were found dead on Feb. 17. They were both originally from the Toronto area.
Ahmed Hussen, the national director of the Canadian Somali Congress, said last week's homicides brought the number of Somali-Canadians killed in Alberta over the past four years to 29.
Hussen said most of the murder victims moved from the Toronto area to northern Alberta in search of high-paying jobs in the oil and gas sector.
“It’s a major concern,” said Hussen, who spent the past 10 weeks in Alberta trying to get <span style="font-weight: bold">a sense of why so many young Somali-Canadians have been killed.</span>
Adad spent two years in jail on a gun charge before he moved west, and investigators in Alberta said both of the men killed last week were known to police.
Hussen, however, said most of the slain men were in Alberta looking for work.
“Our people are no longer immigrants,” he said. “They’re Canadians who are having a difficult time integrating into the mainstream.”
Hussen said <span style="font-weight: bold">only one of the 29 homicides has been solved</span>. Some members of the Somali-Canadian community plan on launching an email and phone campaign to try and push local politicians and police to pay more attention to the killings.
RCMP officials in Alberta were not immediately available for comment.

so dem reach yaad n di all inclusive hotel neva materialise...dem get driven to Kgn n put up wid di Jcan family...afta a week dem a get driven bak to di airport wid a stop to get fish fi carry bak...now dem get new suitcase wid di fish eena di suitcase...of course di dawg let dem dung..u wan see di fresh fish dem stuff di ganja eena ...not even fry di fish...di man in Toronto hire a lawyer fi dem n di lawyer tell dem fi kip dem mout shut...di chick finally get fi mek har family know weh she deh...har fada fly to Ja an bail dem but di two a dem haffi wait a yaad fi dem trial..di fada fly bak to Toronto n di said nite him reach smaddy kill him son...Comment

Vannie, I don't know about the program you are watching but...about 2 or 3 years ago there was a gang here in Calgary claiming to be yaadies or West indian but when push come to shove it was found out that they were all of African descent(an mi noh mean black) Africans (I can't say they were all Somalian) from Toronto
I am willing to wager that a good percentage of those murders were gang related. other than the one I know was killed by a cop.Comment

the Fifth Estate seems to be the Canadian version of say , Dateline...it juss done...di two girls were found guilty in Jamaica as di judge neva believe dem was duped...mi really wonder if is a recent case n dem still deh a jail dung dehComment
