Another victim of the economy.

I would think people would flock to them looking for bargains, but most of them around my neck of the woods are out of business. But then, maybe since most of what they sell is useless junk, dat might have helped with their demise.

Personally, I find them the best place for office holiday and party decorations. I could usually find something nice enough to make do in the office. I finally found one yesterday, picked up a couple holiday trinkets.

Since the ones here moved to more than a dollar for some things but "upped" the quality they seem to be doing pretty well. in fact I've seen ppl spend hundreds on decorations in there.

I often wonder about the workers in those stores. Working with all that cheap Chinese merchandise full of lead paint etc... . Their blood toxicity levels must be through the roof.

In my area, the dollar plus stores did not last long. They didn't up their quality though, just the prices.

Someone can spend hundreds in a dollar or dollar and more store? What dem a buy suh?

Well they had a cart full of decorations and trinkets and i've seen my co-worker decorate our entire office (which is huge) using stuff from dollarama... when you have 6 cashiers working in a dollar store and still have line ups ... then u have ppl like me with my 1 item ... I swear I saw a girl grocery shopping there last week.

The Dollar Tree chain stores in my area north of Boston carry hot cheese curls that are really salty and spicy and are the bomb. Most people up in this area can't tolerate the heat of these things but for those of us who like the heat, they're a welcome commodity not available elsewhere.

The nearest one is side-by-side with a Walmart store and it does quite well because of the many low income shoppers who also shop at Walmart.

Interesting... I wonder why they aren't doing well around here.

The Dollar Tree that was in the same plaza with my nearest Walmart used to stay busy. But they closed maybe a year or more ago. Ever since, whenever I have a &quot;dollar store need' and drive by a known location, dem shut dung.

i got oil of olay regenerist eye makeup remover at dollarama for $1; also sally hansen products and revlon stuff and they're not expired. i even got that DNAge cream for a dollar.

needless to say, i buy in bulk.

dam oonu have soem hi tech $1 store man! Those kinda brand name stuff we'd find at Big Lots, but not dollar store down here. wow

my ongle problem wid dem is dat dem charge $4.99 fi books...i have got some nice mysteries dere but i am upset dat dem charge soo much fi dem

JKid i love fountain pens...i seek dem out..have some made of horns, ivory , wood , u name it...fi mi Mt Blanc one mi bought out di refills mi found in dis store in LT since u can hardly find dem anymore bout di place...fi oddas mi juss ha di ink n a syringe n di original cartridges
