Anyway I almost joined them...............I was going to make a Christmas Tree and Ornaments from my Silver Scrap but I ran out of Time and ended selling most of the Silver!

<span style="font-weight: bold">Probably wanted to outdo its rival city, Dubai, but overdid it.</span>

The Christmas tree is a leftover from one of the pagan tribes that was brought into Christianity and has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus anyway.

Abu Dhabi is a rich oil state that is totally Islamic.

Their tree was strictly an attempt to emulate the opulent trees they see put up in the States.

If jesus showed up to day and saw all the crazy inflatable Santa Clauses and reindeer and illuminated houses AND the gaudily ornamented Christmas trees that even some nominal Jewish families put up I'm sure he'd think we'd all reverted to some bizarre form of paganism or the worship of money

And he'd be right...

Or the owrship of money

Those dismembered hands, arms and legs are today's shiny Xmas baubles.

And December 25th is the day the sun (not son) is born during the winter Solstice.

The December Solstice occurs on the 20th, 21st or 22nd of December depending on the hemisphere and year. Not the 25th.

I agree.

20th to 24th is when the sun seems to stop still in the sky (dead). It starts moving again (born) on 25th.
And because this is a Roman concept, we're dealing with where the sun is over Europe, not which hemisphere.
