Golden-Voiced Homeless Man Checks Out After Only 2 Weeks

Golden-voiced homeless man Ted Williams has left rehab early, the "Dr. Phil" show confirmed Wednesday.

Williams decided to enter a private rehabilitation facility two weeks ago for drug and alcohol dependency following a one-on-one conversation with Dr. Phil McGraw.

TMZ.com reported that Williams left the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas on Monday against medical advice.

His girlfriend is currently in rehab at the Safe Harbor facility in Costa Mesa, Calif., according to the report.

"Ted was given the chance to voluntarily enter a drug rehabilitation facility in order to help him in dealing with his dependency on drugs and alcohol," Dr. Phil McGraw said in a statement. "In that it is voluntary, the decision to remain in treatment is Ted's to make. We certainly hope that he continues his commitment to sobriety, and we will continue to help and support him in any way that we can. We wish him well."

It is sad, and I am not unsympathetic BUT....there comes a time when we just have to walk away. The thing that gets me, and I remember SueS saying the same thing...WHAT did he do to deserve the fame he got in the first place? When the story broke, I was only half paying attention but thought the idiot had gone through some treatment<span style="font-weight: bold"> first</span>.

Seriously, pull a crack head off the street and turn him famous is gonna fix him? The whole thing bex me!

now, they shoulda gone to the streets to find some nice rehabilitated person to fulfill the dream world. Makes me wonder what was REALLY going on that week, that a sugar coated feel good nonsense story took the headlines!
