I take a veternarians attitude toward planetary health.. if an animal is sick beyond survival u put it down... If a planet is doomed beyond repair, blow it up!

Tehre is a human arrogance, that the current sent of climatic / ecological conditions have been static.

I spent the last three years sitting in multiple meetings where geologist have described events and conditions millions of years ago, where there were extremes of temperature.. . and from these condition predict what will happen when a drill bit reaches a point miles away...

There have .multiple mass extintion events,. so far I beleive 4 have been identified...I have listen to paleologist describe multiple creatures now extint and use these desciption to identify mineral deposits .. Tjat amases me for I am a simple uneducated man with a peasants sensibilities....

The one thing is certain this too will pass.. the climate has changed will changed...species will die off.. man too will evolve and or go extint, we have been dominat for a mere 100000 years.. we ate our cousins.. to extintion.. as well as numerous speicies including I might add the extintion of hte coney by Africans in Jamaica...And the beautiful coconut tree dwelling September....

As the Tolkein ode to the ring on a planetary scale..

So one can chose to run round like a a Scottish high church Calvinist shout out " we are doomed, i tell you doomed" well we are.. They are right.. next ????

and our doom has nothing to do wih dietary practice, opennes of sexual proclavities, crude song lyrics, worshiping of snake gods, planetary movement, which interpretation of judeo christian rictual as formalised by a long dead roman emperor..

We as a specie are doomed simply because the laws of physics, chemistry and biology are amazing....I like to say it is Le Chatier principle.. A system reacts to a peterbation so as to atain a new stable state... Humans may have had an effect.. the system our planet will react...

Humans and our current ecological balance will pass.. the day of the die off will happen and in a few million years a creature based on an evolved cockroach may drill for oil over over our urban centers to power their own internal combustion engine! Like now we drill for oil over concentration of protoplasims that died in the Triassic, Jurassic and permian extintions!!!!

Now even if we survive as a specie in the next couple of decades of billion years the sun will either contract and get hotter or expand and get cooler but the net effect is the same.. our planet will become literally toast.. So yes we are doomed the planet is doomed, the speciies are doomed!

Me I chose ot raise my family, laugh, savour a multi decade single malt whiskey, ,listen to Miles Davis, look at a Tulip in amazement, smile at a pretty girl, cry at death of a loved one, get angry at a irritating parnter, watch a great athlete, stare at boat in its glory on a rough sea, envy a john crow in its ability to gracefuly sail through the sky, enjoy a good steak and then a great fart! And when I die I hope there is someone who will feel sad for me and tell tales of my life to someone else!

The rest for me is just noise..
