Makes no sense to me.

Wouldn't a loving, omniscient and omnipotent God send down His only begotten son and straighten out humanity once and for all. Show them The Way and have them believe it and live it?

What is more likely from an all-knowing wise and loving God?

He works in mysterious ways and dictates in metaphors so we never quite know what he's talking about.

Nobody can do that because it doesn't say that.
It says, for the most part, that humans are God's enemies by default.
Jesus had to suffer the punishment due mankind collectively for God to consider it right to spare ANY human from destruction.
So I guess in a sense, God 'tolerates' everyone, for a while, is a better characterization than God loves everyone.
That's what I think the thrust of Biblical exposition suggests anyway.

I thought I was agnostic for a number years. Actually, it was not that I did not believe in a higher power but could not and will not accept some things about religion. Some of it is just so petty that it could only bey man-made. Nobody in their right mind could come up with some of this bs.

That being said, religion is needed. It appears that some people have no conscience or anything directing them what's right from wrong and there are certainly enough good teachings combined with consequences to help lead them.

I was a problem child even in Sunday School with all my questions. I was probably around 6 when I needed an explanation about who exactly Cain could have married. Last count we had 3 people on the planet since Cain killed Abel. (They put me out of class and made me the Sunday School secretary thus forth.)

I don't accept that we were big banged into existence. I just don't think that God is how he has been written about. Does he love us all? He/she would have to in order to put up with all our foolishness and not have wiped this small ball of dirt out long time ago.

doesnt it say that cain left (after god put the mark on him etc) and went to somewhere(cnat recall the name) and is dehso him fine smaddy fi marrid to. there were other ppl besides the Adams family off somewhere. Genesis also talks about humans and angels interbreeding....

again mi no know which pawt but i am sure mi coulda find it if i was so inclined...but it does talk about how the sons of god looked down at the daughters of men etc etc and dem come dung come grine dem. tink dats how the giants came about.

i recently watched clashed of the titans again and all this sounds just like the myth.

Ha ha?

My dad tried to explain about how everything in the bible should not be taken literally. It didn't really help at all. So I was relegated to counting money and taking attendance for all the classes. Great! Now I'm a pharisee.

The Bible doesn't say that Cain found his wife in Nod. It says that he went to Nod and then “knew” his wife. . The word ‘knew’, means that Cain had sexual relations with his wife, who he could have been already married to when he left for Nod. (The word ‘knew’ is only used in some translations. The New American Standard Bible says “And Cain had relations with his wife…”) So… Where did Cain get his wife?
