Haitian U-17 Sen back a haiti

From what I reading on various forums 2 players and a Brazilian trainer were diagnosed with malaria. The whole team quaranteened inside of their hotel rooms with guards outside their doors and then later send back to Haiti.

From what I hear on the radio the whole tournament is a fiasco as it was supposed to be taking place in Trelawny MPS and the inspectors came and found NO GRASS on the field! How embarrasing is that! So they were looking at an alternate venue.

One this is for certain, now with two fiascos on hand, we not hosting no such delikes in the future for sure.

Skelly, someone from the team showed up at a pharmacy in MoBay with a prescription for antimalaria medicine written by the team doctor after they arrived. The pharmacy alerted the Ministry of Health and when they went to investigate they found that multiple members of the team were sick and had fever, so much so that a few of them had to be taken to Cornwall Regional. That’s where blood tests revealed that they all had malaria. Things went south from there. When the MOH officials initiated quarantine procedures…standard practice anywhere in the world and not unique to Haitians..they were less than cooperative. The MOH then recommended to CONCACF that the team withdraw from the competition and leave.

I don't think the Jamaican government has anything to be ashamed of. In fact, this is one instance in which they were actually doing their job.

I agree that the team should be kept from competing. Although not a contagious disease, it can develop into a serious and life threatening condition if untreated.

However I can't see how you would send back a sick person to Haiti of all places!!!
What the GOJ should have done in good sportmanship is treat the team at CRH where the level of care is much higher than can be expected in Haiti.

actually i was planning to go in august but mi nuh tink mi waan go again...was actually looking for another island but miami will do...maybe a short trip over to bahamas...dats as caribbean a vacation mi will be having

Magix, at least one of the team members who had been admitted to CRH, checked himself out of the hospital before the treatment was completed. Others at the hotel refused to have their blood drawn for diagnostic purposes.

I support the decision of Jamaica's MOH.

Yeah,kick out dem baxide yes,why not,..if you jeopardise the health of the rest of the country they should drag them so fast back to the airport their haitian baxide shouldnt even touch the floor,.....go work your voodo pon dat mo-fo's....we are jamaicans,thats how we roll.

It is contagious in countries where the vector exist.
Since there airline traffic between countries exist the mosquito species That transmthe disease between people are regularly present And probably constantly exist in Jamaica.
now how should the infection be more culturally sensitive be dealt with.
