The Arab slave trade is/was much older than the western trade. I thought you meant who started the slave trade 'over here'.

I've always believed that it was the arabs and muslims who were largely responsible for the slave trade but this book shows in astonishing and meticulous DETAIL FROM JEWISH SOURCES that the jews had a severely disproportionate role in the African Slave Trade. It certainly makes you wonder about the origin of the NAACP and the jewish role in the civil rights movement. I would recommend this to anyone who can stomach a non-stop barrage of factual references without any &quot;victim&quot; bias.

One of the effects this book has had on the Jewish community is that it is now very difficult for a person of color to obtain entry to Jewish controlled historical archives. It was no doubt embarrassing to have Jewish archives quoted as the sources for the documentation of who owned the majority of slave ships, slave trading companies, and slave auction houses. I can understand why they would condemn this book.</span>

Las Casas was later.. I beleive that there were a couple slaves on the seacond columbus voage.. Tehre were African slaves in Hispamola prior to Las Casas Arival... Las Casas lived to regreat his reccomendations...
