Well if your point is that it is a pejorative term, from colonial times then perhaps you can lead the way in trying to banish the use of it worldwide
this way no one will be referred to as "sub Saharan" and "sub continent" and then said people can just return to the never ending fighting over the ever shifting borders and continents and land grabbing.
