Respect Sue Sumba,

I'm talking perspective here, proportionality.

Were this11 year old shot and killed by a gang of 11 men , there would not be the interest in this atrocity that there is and that includes both the U.S and Jamaican societies represented in these fora.

It is the sex involved that drives the interest not the brutality.

Many who write in here are Jamaican American citizens of the United States who do vote for the people and policies that result in far far greater atrocities but I see very little interest in the killings overseas.
The most recent of these was the helicopter gunship killing in Afghanistan of seven young boys out gathering firewood.

Not a mention in any of the many fora here. No outrage.

Joseph Stalin ( no, not my hero) said of this phenomenon:

The same might be said of Jamaicans in Jamaica who bemoan the gang violence and how women are treated yet love the misogynist gangsta rappers, violent video games TV and films and vote for the same corrupt governments in succession without giving a though to what they are supporting.

It's a visible decline of the morality and good sense in the societies of both countries
that I am presenting here.

I don't expect any favorable responses.

Evan mi read dis and just decided to walk away because if I said what I felt right then I would be banned for life!
I can't even believe that anyone would be vile enough to suggest that we are showing outrage and interest in this story because it involves <span style="font-weight: bold">SEX... WITH A CHILD </span>no less... violent and brutal and degrading... I am almost without words again.

I can;t even say maybe it;s because he has no children because I don;t know his personal situation... could that be a man's POV??? a lot of times I have heard men try to justify rape by saying &quot;she was asking for it because of how she dress, carry herself etc.&quot;

There is definitely a difference in how men and women react to different situations and how mothers react to certain stories... but this insinuation here really left me beyond words... I gone again and somehow this underscores the reason for less and less frequency between my posts on this board.

The degradation of the two societies is not racially based.
It is across the board.
I also believe that the sexual perversions and atrocities are primarily a male driven thing and that for whatever reasons women are just not the beasts that so many men are.
It's a power thing .
It's a mental illness .

It is also just part of the problem of morality selling out, giving way to the love of money; of the love and need of money making people twisted in ways that extend beyond the money itself. It is a hardening of our souls against our brothers and sisters.

These things do not happen for no reason.

It takes the years of being forced to think in twisted ways and the conditioning has horrifying effects.
