Police say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an American who was found dead in his hotel room in Montego Bay, St James, on Friday evening. Twenty-seven-year-old Micheal Vincent Alesi, a market consultant of New Mexico, United States of America, was found dead in his hotel room in the second city by his girlfriend, who is also an American.
Reports from the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are that Alesi and his girlfriend, 27-year-old Maja Nickol, of Florida, USA, visited the Appleton Estate in St Elizabeth where he consumed a wide variety of alcohol.
According to the police, Alesi was reportedly intoxicated and had to be assisted to his hotel room by room service. The police said when Nickol went to check on him about 6 p.m. she subsequently discovered that he was not breathing.
