His family is frighteningly rich and JFK didn't need anything from anyone.

Therefore the Kennedys didn't owe (too many) political favours once in office.

OK, they owed the Mafia for stuffing ballot boxes in Chicago, but they didn't owe to any industrial/banking/oil/military hardware cartels.
