Re: peaceful protesters arrested---------in america
jah_yout,
Worst of all is the fact that most Americans (U.S.) would gladly beat in the heads of these protesters.
The character of the nation is very similar to what I saw in the early years of the Vietnam War when the people then also bought the lies of the government. The public doesn't like protests that criticize the government and especially on something that is linked to the phony drummed up "War On Terror".
There will be no overturning of the U.S government, no large scale demonstrations, no threat to the status quo.
AND if there were, you'd get the local police, the state police and the National Guard shooting people in the streets of the United States and quite efficiently putting down any rebellion.
If you read Howard Zinn's classic:" A People's History Of The United States" you'd read of a number of rebellions in the United States that were put down with very effective killing of the protesters.
The United States is not Egypt, not Tunisia. It will kill any serious rebels in the same manner as Qaddafi
Oh and for those who don't know what the protestors in the video were protesting:
It is the prolonged torture of Bradley Manning the Private who leaked the atrocities of the U.S armed forces and other information to the public (Wikileaks) because he found those things immoral.
They are trying to break him mentally by using sleep deprivation, making him remain naked and other things to cause him stress.

the treatment they refer to as torture is standard treatment in Jails here in Canada for persons awaiting trial - 23 hour lock down. clothing taken away (if deemed suicide threat) regular cell searches. When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....

yea and i thought guantanamo was gonna be closed down too...
manning may have been charged, but torture is not cool...
but i am speaking of the general policy of the u.s. gov't ----
they can imprison indefinitely anyone suspected as a 'terrorist' without charges or trial...
look at them dragging away these old people with walking sticks with cops in riot gear...
if this was anywhere else the u.s. corporate press would be bellyaching about the brutality of the regime blah blah blah...
they have successfully brainwashed the american public

i think we have to be careful here about mixing who is doing what..if the government had deployed the army to quell a protest that is one thing ..police is a local issue. When its hot in the jungle of peace I go swimming in the ocean of love.....
