Very true Derek,

I would also add that having two or more parties always gives the illusion of ensuring democracy. If you don't like what one party is doing, vote in the other.

The problems with this way of thinking (thinking that predominates in the U.S. and Jamaican electorates) is that when both parties serve the same corporate bosses and will pass laws that mainly benefit the wealthy, it doessn't matter which party you vote for; which candidate you vote for.

All the candidates are nominated by their parties. No one else gets to run as a representative of the Democrat or JLP. They all must exhibit a history and attitude that says that they will play the game the way the parties want it played.

So that &quot;divide and rule&quot; tactic works really well.

Most won't agree with me that the system we have is less democratic than the restrictive and corrupt system in Cuba in many respects and while the Cuban system is being reformed, the US/Jamaican systems getting more corrupt.

And just so you all know, Barak Obama is reaching out to all those who made his election possible to once again support him.
So do your duty, get out there and vote for the lesser of the many evils running for president.
But you won't even do that.

What you will do is again vote for Barack Obama because (forgetting everything that Derek, I and others say about the fraud that are our elections) although he is not as good a man as say Dennis Kucinich or Ralph Nader, you'll vote for him because the other better people don't have a chance of winning and you don't want to waste your vote.

So you will go and vote for the fraud, because maybe this time he'll actually keep a campaign promise or stop getting us into wars or help create jobs instead of billionaires

Why vote for someone like a Nader or Kucinich who actually seem to be moral men and who don't stand a chance because so many people think in the same shortsighted way.

Try to keep in mind what el haj Malik El Shabazz ( Malcolm X) said when asked about voting for Lyndon Johnson (liberal) or Barry Goldwater (conservative) and he said that it is like asking the chicken whether he would vote for the fox or the wolf to run the chicken coop.

The wolf (conservatives) is telling you up front that you're dinner.
The fox (liberal) is promising better feed and a warmer henhouse but in the end you're dinner.

Think of Obama as the fox.
If he invites you to dinner, you needn't worry about what you'll wear.

Eddie renounced his yanki citzenship.. Was considered too radical by Manley Pere.. is not Jamaican because of three months..

But his great rival Dudley Thomspson was born in Panama, chose to fight for the British, and now lives in the United States is Jamaican...
