the US has spent that so far despite States cutting back for lack of funds...who should pay? should the frozen assets of Libya be used? should the MI countries who ratified the no-fly zone foot the bill given their oil wealth?
It is the public's wish that the military receive unlimited funding otherwise Al Qaeda will be coming here and forcing us to establish Sharia Law and sending our kids to suicide bombing school .
Think of that 800 million spent so far. There are many rich people who have interests in the companies that make the missiles and planes that were used so far. They will make money from this and then use that money to create jobs and in that way spread that wealth around.
Lastly, if we don't fight the Libyans over there, someday we'll have to fight them over here.
This is the public perception of reality and so that is how it goes.

RichD,
NOT replace the missiles? That would mean a reduction in the ongoing 1.2 trillion defense budget spending.
That simply is not done.
Does a ruling gang or Mafia cut back on armaments and knee-cappings?
We have a recession going on and must support our biggest industries to keep all those who make the missiles and bombs employed.
